Gita Reopens – Independence day

Yes. I am Happy

For a long time Gita cliff has been a milestone stone in my climbing so I am so Happy to see it get permitted for climbing.

In 2004 I bolted and did the first ascent of Dr Jekel and Mr Hyde,

I don’t remember much usually but I do remember that day.

A group of climbing guides were at the crag, cheering me to the top

we (Oren Nogradi and me) the name because we thought its goining to be a monster route but it turned out to be beautiful

pit was probably one of the first Israel 8a+ and since then Gita and especially Fuel sector has been the home of Israel most overhanging and difficult routes.

I spent there countless hours, bolting , cleaning and sussing moves and it turned out nice in the form of 20 routes in the sector ranging from 7a to 8b+ (https://27crags.com/crags/gita/routelist/fuel) and now after 20 years that Gita was under closure at times and I feel happy that now many climbers can enjoy the sector and it can be also their stepping stone to to overhanging terrain.

Few years before my friend Yadid Luria Tragic death in Gita that lead to a complete closure of the crag, I had the chance to add one more project to the sector, and now I went back to see how it goes .

The line is right next to Dr feel Good, climb the most direct and steepest wall, the moves fo far are very explosive with and Also has feet off dyno. Pretty intense.

I am still not sure if the bolts are in line and for sure there is one or two bolts I feel that I need to change, But I think it will be a nice (Last? maybe? ) addition to Fuel sector
